My Investment Approach
Am I a private equity buyer?
I’m a solo entrepreneur that has raised capital from trusted investors and advisors to buy and grow a software or tech-enabled services company.
How am I different from other buyers?
I’ll jump into the CEO seat of your company after buying it, not some unknown CEO planted by a private equity firm.
I’m focused on growing the company over the next decade (I’m 36 and have a long career ahead of me), not a quick hold and flip.
I’m seeking to grow the company by adding to your existing team over time, not hacking/slashing your current workforce.
Flexibility on deal terms (ex. rolling over equity) and in continued involvement in the company (ex. full exit or CTO/CRO roles).
How would you grow my company?
Every company and industry is different. But some key strategies I’ve implemented and seen repeatedly work:
Focus on customer retention - It’s obviously important to listen to your customers but retaining customers is also the cheapest form of growth.
Implement an indicators focused culture, not only with lagging indicators (ACV, LTV, NPS, cohort analyses), but also leading indicators (conversion rates, onboarding timelines, “Time to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc”).
Create a best-in-class sales team with transparent and structured sales forecasting.
AI adoption to speed up the product development lifecycle.
